Summary

The thin client used to launch the Guided scan in WIE web console fails with the following error.

The settings property 'DefaultDatabaseConnectionString' was not found. The thin client used to launch the Guided scan in WIE web console fails with the following error.

Cause

Possible corruption in clickonce installed files for the application

Fix

Solution:

  1. Uninstalled the Webinspect Security Prerequisites
  2. Clear out the following folders:
    • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
    • C:\ProgramData\HP\WIE\Guided Scan\
  4. Reinstall the thin client by launching the Guided scan again
