Summary
After installing the package which contains the scanner, scanner is not getting copied to the remote machine with UD agents. This is expected behavior. We need to change the specific setting so that new scanner binary will get copied.
Error
If there is a scenario , where we need to install the new scanner binary through the pacakge, scanner binary will not be copied to the remote machines where UDA agents are installed.This is expected behavior. We need to change the specific setting and then run the scanner job, which will initiate the copying of the new scanner binary from probe machine to the remote machines which contains the UD agents.
Cause
By default Inventory by scanner job has disabled the copying of the new scanner binary to the remote machine from probe machine. The job has got the setting by name "scanner upgrade allowed", this controls this specific behavior. By default it is set to FALSE. It means, even though UD server got new version of the scanner in the probe , but it will not copy to remote machines.
Fix
Set the parameter "scanner upgrade allowed" to FALSE and rerun the inventory by scanner job.
This will force the invenotry by scanner job to copy the new binary to the remote machine. By default it is set to FALSE.
