Summary

Starting from SAP GUI 7.50 Patch 3, the classic RFC library, librfc32.dll, is no longer included in SAP GUI installation

Question

The mentioned library (librfc32.dll) enables Unified Functional Testing to work with eCATT. For more details, you can refer to UFT online Help
Starting from SAP GUI 7.50 Patch 3, this RFC library is no longer included in SAP GUI installation.

The librfc32.dll is/was delivered as follows:

  • All “old” SAP GUI versions including SAP GUI 7.40: installation in the “global” path, e.g. C:\Windows\SysWOW64
  • SAP GUI 7.50 patch 0 until patch 2: installation in SAP GUI path, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui
  • SAP GUI 7.50 patch 3 and newer: no delivery at all.

The required librfc32.dll file is available for download through the link below:

Rename the file accordingly after downloading it and then copy it to the <UFT installation folder>\bin directory or copy to any location and add the location to PATH environment variable.

Alternatively, this file can be found in the SAPGUI 750 patch 2 installation package. See how to find it:

  1. Download SAPGUI 750 patch 2 : gui750_2-80001468.exe from SAP Support Launchpad site
  2. Change the name to gui750_2-80001468.cab and unzip it
  3. The librfc32.dll is under folder gui750_2-80001468\SAPgui\
  4. Copy this file to the <UFT installation folder>\bin directory or copy to any location and add the location to PATH environment variable
