VULNERABILITY SUMMARY

Potential security vulnerabilities have been identified and addressed in HPE Helion Eucalyptus. These vulnerabilities could be exploited remotely to allow unauthorized access, modification and/or unauthorized disclosure of information.

Notes:

  • CVE-2016-8520: HPE Helion Eucalyptus v4.3.0 and earlier does not correctly check IAM user’s permissions for accessing versioned objects and ACLs. In some cases, authenticated users with S3 permissions could also access versioned data.

  • CVE-2014-3577: A version of Apache httpclient library shipped with Eucalyptus does not correctly validates server hostname when checking X.509 certificates. This vulnerability can allow a man-in-the-middle attack to spoof an SSL server and hijack a connection. Eucalyptus CloudFormation service is potentially affected in cases when templates and stack policies are fetched from external URLs.
