Question

We can restart the historyDB service using the startHistoryDB and stopHistoryDB mbeans from jmx-console.

Answer

Yes. We can restart the history DB services from jmx-console. It should be executed only when history DB is corrupted and it is beyond recoverable because the restart of history DB service will drop the complete history db data exists and recreates the schema again.  This is applicable for all existing UD versions.
