Summary

PSTs fail to backup if device has drive with manual bitlocker drive

Error

ERR_SHADOWCOPYERROR and the detail is  “Failed to deserialize data: no valid message start tag found”. 

Cause

PSTs are backed up using a VSS snapshot. If a bitlocker drive exists which VSS cannot access, we will fail to snapshot every drive.

Fix

Fixed in CMX 4.1. We will no longer fail VSS snap shots if there exists a drive with manual bitlocker encryption.
