Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is happy to announce that starting the release of HPE Universal CMDB Foundation (UCMDB) and Universal Discovery version 10.32 the Automated Service Modeling (ASM) will not require a separate license anymore, and any customer that have Universal Discovery license ("full UD"), will be able to leverage also the ASM functionality.
This change was made based on feedback we received from customers, and to simplify the licensing model for UCMDB and UD. As a customer you would enjoy the following benefits:
- Ability to map services using ASM, without the burden of purchasing additional license on top of UD. Be aware though that all the OSi [Operating System instances] within any service map, need to have the proper UD full license [this was also required prior to this change].
- Ability to leverage the power of the latest ASM content enhancements and improvements.
Customers who would like to leverage this new license structure need to upgrade to the latest UCMDB and UD release version 10.32. Customers who already own ASM license will be able to continue to leverage their existing licenses on their existing version, and do not need to update to 10.32. HPE will stop charging for support for this license at the time of next support renewal.
