HPE VM Explorer automatically recognizes tape devices visible to the Windows computer they are installed on. In Windows Device Manager, you can find tape libraries under the Medium Changer
devices and tape drives under the Tape drives group.
We recommend that you install the latest device drivers from your hardware provider, especially if HPE VM Explorer does not detect the tape library and Windows Device Manager displays it as Unknown
Medium Changer.

HPE VM Explorer requires barcodes on every tape (which means, no support for standalone tape drives, or libraries without labeled media). HPE VM Explorer does not currently work with mixed media partitions. HPE VM Explorer does not support WORM media. HPE VM Explorer does not currently support Cleaning tapes.
