Error reported while performing SAP R/3 Backups is as below:

BR0247E No backup utility ID or ID longer than 16 characters

BR0278E Command output of 'backint -u DWP_LSTB -f backup -i /oracle/DWP/saparch/.aeuqvipr.lst -t file -c':

'#SAVED 20161205.10850.00 /oracle/DWP/oraarch/DWParch1_11044_911794381.dbf

In this case backup utility ID is 20161205.10850.00 which is of 17 characters, greater than 16 characters.

On further investigating, it was observed that this backup utility ID is slimilar to backup session ID in DP

Answer

Hotfix provided by HPE Labs as in DP0815_b211_QCCR2A65383_HF1_ux and DP0815_b211_QCCR2A65383_HF1_win resolves the issue.
