Performance Center / LoadRunner fails to run TC IE scripts as Agent Service caused by HTML 5 Local Storage Microsoft Defect

Error

Running Performance Center or LoadRunner scenario using Agent as a Service the following error is displayed:

Error: "Wait until Page Number's Visible Text Contain 1 ** failed - target object was not found"

Cause

There is a Microsoft Defect that caused HTML 5 Local Storage to not work in Session 0.

Fix

These are the following workarounds:

  1. Run Agent as Process
  2. Or apply the fix following the steps below.
    The fix should be applied only     on top of Performance Center Host 12.20 and LoadRunner and LoadGenerators standalone 12.02.
    1. Back up magentservice.exe under  < instalation path> \launch_service\bin\  in LoadGenerators
    2. Replace it by magentservice.exe
    3. Back up Load Generator Register
    4. Run the following .Reg files TC_IE_REG_PATCH and TC_IE_DEFAULT_USER_PATCH
