The HPE Universal CMDB (UCMDB) - HPE Asset Manager (AM) integration pushes inventory data into AM to enable ITAM and SACM processes.
You manage the data flow from the UCMDB Integration Studio. The integration pushes data that can support SACM and ITAM to AM, such as nodes, node elements (CPUs, Disks, Interface, LogicalVolumes, and so on), running software, cluster, business CIs (BusinessApplication and BusinessService), business/infrastructure dependencies, normalized installed software and software utilities.
The integration assumes that UCMDB is not the only feeder for AM. It reconciles the pushed CIs against the AM repository.
Beginning in version 10.00 of UCMDB, DDMI and DDMA unified into a single inventory discovery product called 'Universal Discovery'. Universal Discovery and UCMDB together replace DDMI as the official inventory data feeders for AM.
This integration also replaces the Connect-IT scenarios that synchronized business CIs and business/infrastructure dependencies from UCMDB into AM. The integration can be done with Universal Discovery in UCMDB without the need for another application.
Version 3.0 introduces a new push approach that is implemented by UCMDB Generic Adapter.
