"Failed to set TDServer Properties" error when changing log level in ALM 11.52

Summary

This article describes an error message in ALM 11.52 when using different log paths in a clustered installation (two or more nodes of ALM).

Error

From Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 11.52 Site administration->Servers tab when trying to change the Log Level to any other value an error message window pops with the text:

 "Failed to set TDServer Properties"

This happens in a clustered implementation with two or more nodes.

Cause

In clustered configuration of more than one node of ALM it is mandatory that the secondary node and all other ones are configured in the same way.

In the current case a different log file path was specified for the secondary node under "Log File Location" which generated the error.

Fix

1. Go to ALM 11.52 Site administration->Servers tab
2. Apply the same log file path under "Log File Location" for all nodes.
