What are the alternatives for redundancy in BSM?  What are the best practices for each alternative?

Answer

The attached White Paper disucsses four alternatives that have been employed to address Redundancy for BSM:
·         High Availability - fully supported and documented both in the attached white paper and in the BSM Installation Guide
·         Distributed High Availability – a customized version of High Availability that works if you have distributed data centers in close physical proximity to each other (< 250 miles) and have a dedicated high speed fiber connection (<5 milliseconds) between the data centers.
·         Disaster Recovery  - fully supported and documented both in the attached white paper and in the BSM Installation Guide
·         Business Continuity – a customized set up for distributed data centers that is an alternative to Disaster Recovery, with some advantages and draw backs described in the attached white paper.
