Error

When deploying a policy or instrumentation to a node the following error message may be shown" " (PMD1283) Prerequisite check results for node 'Nodename': (REQCHK8506) Cannot communicate with the node 'Nodename' using Rexec or SSH"

Cause

One of the possible causes can be the problem report on document KM1112543

And this was verified but the problem still persisted. After selecting on the failed deployment job the option "All Tasks -> Restart Job without node prerequisite check" the following message was displayed:

"(PMD1244 Unable to get the package inventory from node 'Nodename'. The agent API returned the following errors: (depl-218) could not get inventory.
(xpl-331) connect() to 'Nodename'[ xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:383' failed.
(WIN-0)
(xpl-331) connect() to 'Nodename'[ xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:383' failed.
(WIN-0)
(PMD1223) Node 'Nodename' is not reachable via ICMP.

In this case the mentioned IP in error message it's different from the one in the managed node.

Fix

To fix this problem the correct IP needs to be configured in the node properties by using the node editor.
