On Windows 7, the registry keys are responsible for file extension association. This document will provide the steps to add HP Run Result Viewer to the "Open with" list of the context menu when right clicking on a .xml file
Answer
1. Run "regedit" to open registry.
2. Backup current registry.
3. Open "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications"
4. Open "reportviewer.exe\shell\open". If it dose not exist, please create the key.
5. Change the String Value of "default" to "<HP Run Results Viewer installation folder>\bin\reportviewer.exe" "%1".
6. Log off and log in again.
7. If you want to apply the modification to the all user, you can edit the corresponding keys under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\".
Now, Run Result Viewer will appear on the "Open with" list of the context menu when right clicking on a .xml file (for example result.xml).
