Summary

A hotfix is provided to overcome VuGen 11.5x hang during replay of SAP GUI protocol script at a grid related API step.

Error

VuGen hangs while replaying a SAP GUI protocol script at a grid related API step for example sapgui_grid_select_cell_column.

This issue appears in the following LoadRunner and Performance Center VuGen versions: 11.50, 11.50 patch 1, 11.51, 11.52 and 11.52 patch 1.

Cause

A regression issue in the HP.Utt.StandaloneDebugger.exe is causing the problem.

Fix

The issue is resolved in LoadRunner and Performance Center 12.00 release.

Separate hotfix files for each affected version are available to address this issue. 

To apply the hotfix follow these steps:

  1. Close VuGen.
  2. Download the hotfix corresponding to your VuGen version
  3. Go to <LoadRunner installation folder>\bin.
  4. Backup the original HP.Utt.StandaloneDebugger.exe
  5. Extract HP.Utt.StandaloneDebugger.exe from the HP.Utt.StandaloneDebugger_xx.zip file that was downloaded at step 1.
  6. Copy it in <LoadRunner installation folder>\bin.
  7. Replay the script.
  8. If the problem remains there is an additional hotfix available for all VuGen 11.5x releases except 11.50.
    To apply the additional hotfix :
    1. Close VuGen.
    2. Go to <LoadRunner installation folder>\bin.
    3. Backup the original SapGuiReplay.dll
    4. Extract SapGuiReplay.dll from the HP.Utt.StandaloneDebugger_xx.zip file that was downloaded at step 1.
    5. Copy it in <LoadRunner installation folder>\bin.
    6. Replay the script.
