What can be the reason of not seeing any users in operators group even if the users exist in this group ?

Summary

This document explain the most probable cause of note seeing any user when using the “User Roles” menu in OMW (Operations Manager for Windows ). Operations Manager for Windows OMW 8.10 Operations Manager for Windows OMW 8.16 Operations Manager for Windows OMW 9.00

Error

When accessing the “User Roles” in Operations Manager for Windows (OMW) you may see that there are no users/operators in operators group HP-OVE-DEV-OPERATORS despite the users exist in this group in AD (Active Directory).

Cause

For this specific case in the registry data it was seen that OMW was configured to use the local group HP-OVE-OPERATORS as the below example:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\OVEnterprise\Security\Aliases]

"HP-OVE-Deleg-User"="DOMAIN\\HP-OVE-Deleg-User"
"HP-OVE-User"="DOMAIN\\HP-OVE-User"

"HP-OVE-OPERATORS"="HP-OVE-OPERATORS"

Fix

To resolve this problem the users should be added to the local group and not the domain group this will make users available as part of HP-OVE-OPERATORS group.
