No "MI Listener Name" was given

Summary

When configuring Running vusers over firewall on Performance Center this error appears, even when the values are in the settings.

Error

Error: Failed to start connection over firewall. No "MI Listener Name" was given.

Error: Failed to start connection over firewall. No "Local Machine Key" was given.

Cause

This issue occurs when using the Performance Center Agent or LoadRunner Agent as a Service with an account with not enough permissions.

Fix

There are two ways to fix this issue:

  • On Services look for the Performance Center Agent Service, go to Properties, Log On tab, use an specific account for that service, instead of Local System, the recommended is IUSR_Metro account.

Or

  • Install the Agent as Process instead of as Service.
