The NNM iSPI
Performance for Traffic contains new features, feature enhancements,
and other
changes.
The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 (Patch 1) contains the following new features:
Subnet details are not available on NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic reports by default. Source Subnet Address and Destination Subnet Address options are available in the Grouping By list. However, the subnet address is shown on the report as 0.0.0.0/0. To be able to view subnet details on NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic reports, you must perform additional configuration steps. For detailed instructions, see the topic Enabling Subnet Information in Traffic Reports in the HP Network Node Manager iSPI Performance for Traffic Software Deployment Guide.
The NNM iSPI
Performance
for Traffic contains these new features:
Exception Reporting: The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 enables you to generate reports based on the number of exceptions raised for the selected interfaces.
Subnet Reporting: The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 enables you to generate reports for the subnet mask or the subnet address for the ingress traffic flowing to the selected Leaf Collector.
Performance Graphs: NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 enables you to view the traffic availability, utilization, and volume of the selected flow enabled nodes and interfaces using the Performance tab and Performance Troubleshooting window.
HP recommends that you validate the installation configuration parameters using this feature before starting working with the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic.
Application Identification: The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 enables you to view all the unidentified applications on your network and associate them with application mapping rules.
When a flow record collected by a Leaf Collector contains applications that do not satisfy any existing application mapping rules, the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic marks these applications as "Undefined" For Undefined applications that generate a significant volume of traffic, you can create the application mappings to identify the applications contributing to the traffic volume using the iSPI Performance for Traffic Configuration Console.
Master Collector configuration to support Leaf Collector data stream: The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 Master Collector Configuration form now enables you to enable or disable the Leaf Collectors from generating data for the Interface_Traffic extension pack.
The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic contains these enhancements:
Enhanced Leaf Collector Diagnostics adjusts the object pool size dynamically based on the volume of incoming traffic.
The NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 (Patch 1) installation requirements, as well as instructions for installing the patch are documented in the patch text file, which is available in the text format with the downloadable patch. Before installing NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 (Patch 1), see the Installation Notes section in the HP Network Node Manager iSPI Performance for Traffic Software 9.20 Release Notes.

Uninstallation of the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic (Patch 1) does not remove newly introduced report (Top N Table report) from the NPS Console. After uninstalling the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic (Patch 1), do not use this report.
NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic 9.20 (Patch 1) release contains certain unresolved
problems, some limitations, and there are workaround to help solve
certain
problems.
PROBLEM: |
When you configure the Top N Application Inclusion List or Thresholds, the nmstrafficfilterappmaptool.ovpl script does not support the import option. |
WORKAROUND: |
Unconfigure the Top N Application Inclusion List or Thresholds manually. |
PROBLEM: |
The low default value of 'Flush Record Limit" for Master Collector results in creation of multiple NNM iSPI Performance for Metrics data files. |
WORKAROUND: |
The Master Collector now writes 100K records in each file. It will write data every 5 minutes if less than 100K records were processed in the last 5 minutes. |
PROBLEM: |
When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, the scrolling feature of the browser may not work occasionally for the views under the Traffic Analysis workspace. |
WORKAROUND: |

The Save & New feature does not work when you launch the Configure Traffic Threshold action from the Actions menu in the NNMi console. |
WORKAROUND:
|
Configure new thresholds by using the threshold configuration form in the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic Configuration Console. |
PROBLEM:

After launching a report directly from the Actions > Traffic Reports menu, if you try to open another report, the following error appears:
|
WORKAROUND:
|
Clear topology filter selections and open the report again. |
PROBLEM:

In a high availability (HA) cluster setup, while configuring the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic as an add-on product of NNMi, the following error messages appear after you run the
|
WORKAROUND:
|
Ignore these errors. |
PROBLEM:
|
A null-pointer exception occurs when you try to configure a Leaf Collector to use a high port value (higher than 10000). |
WORKAROUND:
|
Configure the Leaf Collector to use a different port. |
PROBLEM:
|
When you filter the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic reports based on the source port, the source port values are displayed as "0" in the report. If you drill down to view further detail from the source port value, NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic displays an empty report. |
WORKAROUND:
