§
Support for HP OpenView
Operations for Windows, version 7.50 only.
§
Integration with HP OpenView
Self Healing Services (SHS):
This feature provides improved troubleshooting by collecting
data and system information relevant to the fault at the time that the fault
occurs. The Self-Healing data can be collected either through HP OpenView Self-Healing Services client software or through
the Self-Healing Information tool. The configuration and usage instructions are
provided in hp OpenView Operations Smart Plug-In for hp OpenView Storage Area Manager Administrator's Reference
provided in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.
Installation
requirements, as well as instructions for installing Storage Area Manager SPI,
are documented in the hp OpenView Operations Smart Plug-In for hp OpenView Storage Area Manager Administrator's Reference.
The document file along with the release notes, named SAM_Config.pdf
and SAM_ReleaseNotes.html is included in Volume 1 of the Smart Plug-ins CDs.
After installation the
documents can be found at location "%OvInstallDir%\install\OVSAMSPI\doc".
The Software and
Hardware Requirements are listed in hp OpenView Operations Smart Plug-In for hp OpenView Storage Area Manager Administrator's Reference.
§
All the data collected by the SHS data
collector for Storage Area Manager SPI on Windows managed nodes may not be
relevant.
The data collected includes data for Windows managed
nodes running OpenView SAM Management Server and OpenView SAM HostAgent,
irrespective of which of them is running on that particular Windows node. The
Data Collector collects a file named "SPI_SAM_collector_output.txt"
file which lists the outputs of the commands run by the collector. The output
of "chksam.vbs" gives the information
regarding the existence of Storage Area Manager Client, Storage Area Manager HostAgent and/or Storage Area Manager ManagementServer.
This information helps us to classify the rest of the data in that file
accordingly and use only those which are relevant to that particular node.
