Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

The known problems, limitations, and workarounds for NDAOM B.02.00 are listed below.

NDAOM subagent does not start on the Solaris managed node
PROBLEM: NDAOM subagent does not start on the Solaris managed node and sends critical messages such as "Netpath Probe of subagent 9 aborted..."
CAUSE: The /usr/ucb directory is not in the path
FIX:

On the Solaris managed node, add /usr/ucb to the path in the .profile file and execute the following command

# /opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcagt -start -id 9

(The Problem Diagnosis (PD) patches provide above, will fix this problem. Apply the patch on the NNM AE server and get the PD probes from the NNM AE server to the OVO Management server following the online help.)

Autodeployment setting per node not checked
PROBLEM: During the deployment of the NDAOM subagent, the NDAOM_Service_Discovery policy is auto-deployed to the management server even if the per node setting for Auto deployment on the management server is enabled.
CAUSE: The NDAOM Service Discovery process checks only the registry for checking whether Auto Deployment is enabled or disabled. The check for per node setting for Auto Deployment is not done.
FIX: Disable auto deployment by setting the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\OVEnterprise\Management Server\AutoDeployment\Disable  to a non-zero value. From the next deployment (ovnwlinkmon -deploy), the NDAOM_Service_Discovery policy will not be auto deployed to the management server
The OVO message browser displays a message
PROBLEM: The OVO message browser might display messages such as “Xml stream has a bad format – for details see

<OvSharedir>\SPI-Share\ndaom\log\xml.err”. (Occurs when the NDAOM_NDAOM_log policy is deployed to the Management server)
CAUSE: This is due to performance events sent by PD in an incorrect format.
FIX: Apply the latest patches (Consolidated and Intermediate) for NNM AE 7.5 on the NNM AE Server (HP-UX, Solaris or Windows)
