The Service Test hardware configurations (where they differ from Quality Center requirements) are:
For more information on the hardware configurations for Service Test, refer to the HP Service Test Readme file.
Software Configurations
Service Test Management has the following software installation configurations:
- HP Quality Center 9.2 (installed on your server machine). For installation instructions, refer to the HP Quality Center Installation Guide.
- HP Quality Center 9.2 Patch 9 (installed on your server machine). Available on the HP Service Test Management installation DVD.
- HP Quality Center 9.2 Patch 10 (installed on your server machine) is not a prerequisite, but it is required to use the manual execution of a service test.
- HP Service Test 9.10 or the HP Service Test Add-in 9.10 for Quality Center 9.2 (installed on your client machine). For instructions on installing HP Service Test, refer to the HP Service Test Installation Guide. What's New
HP Service Test Management 9.30 includes the following enhancements:
- Manual Web Service Testing. You can now run service tests manually. In the Test Lab module, select a service test (DB-TEST test type) and choose Run > Run Manually. The Manual Runner dialog box opens.
- Service Dependencies. You can now manage dependencies between services and their operations in the Linked Services tab of the Services module. For example, if operation O1 of service S1 calls operation O2 of service S2, then you can add a dependency between S1 and S2, and add a dependency between O1 and O2. When performing change impact analysis, these dependencies are included. For example, when O2 changes, you can verify the impact by executing the tests that cover O1.
- Service Analysis. You can now analyze the requirement coverage status of your services using drill-down charts. In the Services module, choose Analysis > Analyze All Services to analyze all services. To analyze a single service, select a service in the services tree and choose Analysis > Analyze Selected Service. The Service Analysis window opens.
- Testing Aspects Management. You can now customize the list of testing aspects displayed in the Requirement and Test Generation wizard. You can add user-defined aspects, modify the properties of system and user-defined aspects, and delete user-defined aspects.
In Project Customization, click the Service Test link to open the Service Test page. Click the Add/Edit Aspects button. The Aspect Management dialog box opens.
- Services tab in the Requirements and Test Plan modules. You can now add service links from the Requirements and Test Plan modules. The Services tab in the Requirements module displays the services linked to a selected requirement. The Services tab in the Test Plan module displays the services linked to a selected test.
- Add Manual Changes and Modify Changes. You can now add a new change manually to the Changes tab in the Services module. This is useful when a change cannot be detected when updating a service. For example, when an implementation of an operation changes.
Notes and Limitations
- When installing Service Test Management on a Linux machine, disregard the following message: `Unable to locate tools.jar. Expected to find it in /opt/HP/STM/_jvm/lib/tools.jar'.
- When upgrading a from Quality Center 9.0 to Quality Center 9.2, the Service Test Management extension can be enabled only after the upgrade.
- After upgrading from Service Test Management 9.1 to Service Test Management 9.30, all services should be updated. The false service changes that were detected, should be deleted.
- The following limitations apply when using the Manual Runner:
- The following error occurs if the Quality Center server is not restarted after adding an SOA license. When you click the Site Connections tab and there is at least one user connection, an error is returned. Workaround: Restart the Quality Center server after installing the SOA license.
- Cross-version integration of Service Test and Service Test Management is not supported. Service Test 1.0 (8.1FP4) is not integrated with the current version of Service Test Management, and the previous version of Service Test Management is not integrated with Service Test versions 9.0 and 9.1.
- The toolkits used for importing service definitions are not supported in Quality Center while working with HP LoadRunner 8.1 Feature Pack 4 on the client machine.
- Importing from UDDIs through proxy servers is not supported.
- You cannot import WSDL files that are located in a secured network share. Workaround: Copy the file to a local folder or to a non-secure location.
- The Requirement and Test Generation wizard cannot generate tests for a project that has required fields for a test.
- You cannot change a requirement's Testing Aspect Type field.
- When connecting to a Service Test Management client on a Windows XP Service Pack 2 machine over a remote network, a "Client not registered" message is displayed.
Workaround 1: Manually register the SOA_Module_UIProj.ocx and SOAClient.dll files by running the regsvr32 SOA_Module_UIProj.ocx and regsvr32 SOAClient.dll commands.
Workaround 2: Use the client-side installation http://<Quality Center server>:<port>/qcbin/PlugIns/ClientSideInstallation/
STMClient.msi.- Service Test Management does not support WSDL files that contain non-English characters.
