This file provides information about Service Test Management 11.50.
What's New
HP Service Test Management 11.50 includes the following enhancements:
- Discovery Wizard. A wizard that scans Service Test or UFT tests in ALM for contract files and creates application components for the detected contracts.
- Update Linked Tests. A utility that allows you to update all Service Test or UFT tests that are linked to application components, with the current version of the contract. If a change was detected, it issues an alert.
- Business Views. Built in Business Views for creating meaningful and custom reports relating to application components.
- REST API. Service Test Management entities are now available through the ALM REST API.
Version 11.10 Enhancements
Service Test Management 11.50 also includes the enhancements featured in version 11.10:
- Add-in no Longer Required. The Service Test add-in is no longer required in order to use Service Test Management.
- New Simplified Licensing. An enhanced license mechanism provides automatic access to Service Test Management with the purchase of a UFT license. This allows you to access Service Test Management immediately after installation.
- Enhanced Change Analysis. Automatic detection of changes in an XSD schema and the ability to perform a comparison between versions of XSD schemas, referenced by the WSDL. A grid listing the changes, groups them by the change type.
- Spot Tester. A built-in testing tool allows you to test a specific Web Service operation. Version 11.10 contains the following new features:
- Multiple Imports. The Generate Components wizard allows you to import multiple Web Service contracts simultaneously.
- Direct Upgrades. Full support for upgrading application components from Quality Center 9.2/Service Test Management 9.41 to Application Lifecycle Management 11.00/Service Test Management 11.10. Data integrity was tested extensively.
Version 11.00 Enhancements
Service Test Management 11.50 also includes the enhancements featured in version 11.00:
- Simplified Installation. The installation uses ALM's standard deployment tool. The deployment of the Service Test Management extension does not affect any existing ALM project in any way.
- Streamlined Upgrade. ALM's built-in upgrade tool allows a safe upgrade from Service Test Management 10.xx repositories.
- Service Test 11.10 integration. Compatibility with HP Service Test 11.10 and higher, supports test generation through the ALM interface. In addition, you can import Web services stored in Service Test Management, into HP Service Test. This integration also extends the reporting capabilities for determining operation coverage.
- ALM Governance 4.0. This version allows the importing of contracts from ALM Governance 4.0 (Systinet 4.0).

Software Configurations
Service Test Management version 11.50 requires:
Server machine
Client machine
- A UFT (Unified Functional Testing) license. Each UFT license includes access for a single user to Service Test Management. A separate license for the Service Test Management server is not required.
- An installation of HP Service Test or UFT 11.50 (release date November 2012) on the client machine allows you to:
- Create Service Test compatible tests directly through the Requirement and Test Generation wizard.
- Save the configuration from the Spot Tester utility as a Service Test/UFT compatible test.
- Use the Discovery Wizard to scan tests for their application components.
- Run the Update Linked Tests utility to update multiple tests with a newer contract.
Limitations
For a complete list of current limitations, refer to the Troubleshooting and Limitations section at the end of each chapter in the Service Test Management User Guide.
Upgrading
You can upgrade database repositories from Service Test Management 10.50 or higher using Application Lifecycle Management's Maintenance tools. This upgrade will safely import your data into the 11.50 repository.
To upgrade a project:
- It is recommended that you backup your original project before the upgrade.
- Before upgrading a project from version 10.50, you must rename the mstm folder under the project's repository, to MSTM (upper case:). The default location of this folder is C:\Program Files\HP\QualityCenter\repository\qc\<domain name>\<project name>.
- Enter the Site Administration area, and click the Site Projects tab.
- In the Projects list, select a project.
- Expand the Maintain Project button and select Upgrade Project.
- Read the guidelines in the wizard and click Upgrade Project. The Upgrade Project window displays the results.

Note: Changes made in Customization to the Web services parser GUID and supported file extensions, are not retained after upgrading.
