- Application Lifecycle Management compatibility. This version of Service Test Management is compatible with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 11.00.
- Simplified Installation. The installation uses ALM's standard deployment tool. The deployment of the Service Test Management extension does not affect any existing ALM project in any way.

- Service Test 11.10 integration. Compatibility with HP Service Test 11.10 and higher, supports test generation through the ALM interface. In addition, you can import Web services stored in Service Test Management, into HP Service Test. This integration also extends the reporting capabilites for determining operation coverage.
- ALM Governance 4.0. This version allows the importing of contracts from ALM Governance 4.0 (Systinet 4.0).
In addition, version 11.00 includes all of the enhancements released with earlier versions of HP Service Test Management.
Notes and Limitations
Installation
- When installing Service Test Management on a Linux machine, disregard the following message: `Unable to locate tools.jar. Expected to find it in /opt/HP/STM/_jvm/lib/tools.jar'.
- The following error occurs if the Application Lifecycle Management server is not restarted after adding an SOA license. When you click the Site Connections tab and there is at least one user connection, an error is returned.
Workaround: Restart the ALM server after installing the SOA license.General
- The Interoperability testing aspects are not supported when generating a test with the Requirement and Test Generation wizard and choosing the ST11 Generator. This includes the .NET Framework and Axis/Java Based Web Services testing aspects.
- When working in the Test Plan module's Application Component tab—if you select a linkage to a component and press the keyboard's Delete button, Service Test Management tries to delete the entire test, instead of just the link.
- When using the Find dialog box to locate an entity in the application components tree, certain fields are read-only and you cannot provide a value, such as Component ID.
- When defining a link between a requirement and application component through the Requirements module > Application Components tab: if the requirement is of a type that does not support coverage (such as folder), the link is not created and Service Test Management does not issue a warning.
- When using the Generate Requirements and Tests wizard for a application component type other than Web Services, the Select script generator drop-down continues to show the Service Test generator option. This option is not supported for non-Web Service components, and it may generate an error.
- When using the Generate Requirements and Tests wizard, you cannot select the root folder, Subject as a location for the tests.
- When filtering by the Component Type field, if the type name contains a space, you must enclose it with single quotes.
- You cannot change a requirement's Testing Aspect Type field.
- Test generation is not supported if the test entity has a required field of Memo type.
- When defining a new change in the Changes tab, and selecting Operation as the Affected part type, the Affected part field does not provide a drop-down list of the available operations. Workaround: Manually type in the operation name.
- Certain graphs generated by the Quality Center dashboard, cannot be filtered by the Component Name field.
Customization
- In the customization for Service Test Management (Tools > Customize), when working in the Aspects tab—if you select a requirement type whose coverage is set to None (Requirement Type link in customization), or if you deleted the requirement type—you may encounter unexpected results when generating requirements for that aspect.
- Memo type fields, such as Description, Comment, and so forth, are not added to the Interaction tab, even if they are designated to be included through the Customization.
- In the Application Component's Aspects tab, the Requirement type drop-down shows types that cannot be covered by the aspects.
- When creating custom rules with filtering, the Application Components tree may show old alerts that no longer apply.
Web Services
- You can import services from all versions of Systinet, including 4.00. Importing from Service Test Management to Systinet, is only supported for Systinet 4.00.
- WSDL files with non-English characters are not supported.
- You cannot import WSDL files that are located in a secured network share. Workaround: Copy the file to a local folder or to a non-secure location.
- Importing from UDDIs through proxy servers is not supported.
- Spot Testing may result in the following message "Failed to generate metadata" if changes are made to the WSDL native name field.
