Upgrade Notes

There are no SPI specific upgrade steps when an upgrade of the HPO for Windows management server is performed. For upgrade details see the HPO upgrade documentation.

Installation Problems

NOTE: If the PSSPI discovery file is manually updated or compiled, use the following format for the PeopleTools version x.yz, e.g. "8.44" instead of "8.44.10".

§                    1000392241: The script psspi_pspt.pl does not support multiple Process Schedulers.

§                    1000399627: The tool 'View PRCS Log' gives an empty output.

§                    1000400060: The script psspi_pmon.pl cannot monitor multiple process schedulers.

§                    1000410093: The script psspi_pmon.pl fails if Process Scheduler is not running under root account.

§                    1000418193: The instrumentation for Linux kernel 2.6 is missing on the Management Server.

Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

Activation

PROBLEM:

After executing the applications PS Activation or Get PS Cfg from HP Operations 8.0 for Windows, strange messages appear in the HPO message browser, containing long strings of hex numbers. The attributes of the messages are: Object = FileData, Group = PSSPI, Application = psspi_spicl.pl

SOLUTION:

1.      Check if the PSSPI-Messages policy is deployed on mgd node.

2.      Allow remote action on the management server using Remote Action Security policy in the Server policies group.

Monitoring

PROBLEM:

If a PeopleSoft Application server domain crashed or has been aborted ungraceful the SPI TMIB monitor may hang when accessing the Tuxedo TMIB. An indication is an HPO message appearing similar to:

Can’t start monitor script for object ’PSSPI-TMIB-Col-05m’. Script still running. (OpC30-610)

SOLUTION:

Always shutdown domains properly. Try to re-boot or re-configure the domain. If this does not help you may need to re-boot the whole system.

Documentation Errata

At the time of release, there were no known documentation errata to report.

Integration with Other HP Operations Solutions

The HP Operations Smart Plug-in for PeopleSoft works with the SPI for Databases (Oracle, MSSQL), SPI for IBM DB2 and HP Reporter.
