This document provides an overview of HP OpenView Select Identity (OVSI) 4.0 Patch 4.01.002.   It contains important information not included in the manuals or in online help.

This OVSI 4.0 Patch 4.01.002 release includes defect fixes for the HP OpenView Select Identity 4.0 Commercial (MR) release. 

 

Installation Notes

Please refer to the HP OpenView Select Identity Installation Guide for details describing the steps necessary to install HP OpenView Select Identity, including software platform and third-party application requirements.

OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002 files

The 4.01.002 patch contains:

·         websphere_lmz.ear file (application folder)

·         ovsil10n_help_en_US.war file (application folder)

·         ovsii18n.jar file (library folder)

·         TruAccess.properties file (properties folder)

·         Oracle migrator (database\Upgrade\ORACLE\ oracle_331Patch3plus_40_0.59.11 folder)

·         MSSQL migrator (database\Upgrade\MSSQL\ mssql_331Patch3plus_40_0.59.11 folder)

 

OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002 installation steps

  1. Backup database
  2. Uninstall websphere_lmz.ear file
  3. Uninstall ovsil10n_help_en_US.war file (help)
  4. Replace websphere_lmz.ear file
  5. Replace ovsil10n_help_en_US.war file
  6. Replace ovsii18n.jar file
  7. Deploy websphere_lmz.ear file (in Websphere Applications)
  8. Deploy ovsil10n_help_en_US.war file (in Websphere Applications)
  9. Update TruAccess.properties file
  10. Restart Websphere

Note: Only version changes have been made to the ovsil10n_help_en_US.war and TruAccess.properties files.

 

 


Enhancements and Fixes

New Features

 

The OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002 of HP OpenView Select Identity includes the migrator feature. The migrator allows user to migrate from OVSI 3.3.1 Patch 3 to OVSI 4.0 both for Oracle and MSSQL.

 

Ø         For Oracle migrator:

       1. Get the Oracle migrator from the

       database\Upgrade\ORACLE\oracle_331Patch3plus_40_0.59.11 folder

       2. Install Cygwin if user uses Windows

      3. In the "oracle_run_migrate.sh" file, add ORACLE_HOME, modify ORASERVER, ORAPORT, ORACLE_SID, ORAUSER and ORAPWD according to your own environment, set J2EE_JAR according to your own environment

       4. Put the Oracle JDBC driver under the lib folder in the migrator

     5. Run the migrator by using the "sh ./oracle_run_migrate.sh" command

       6. If user wants to migrate to OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002, user needs to run the oracle_4.00_to_4.01_ddl.sql script in the migrator

 

Ø         For MSSQL migrator:

       1. Get the MSSQL migrator from the

       database\Upgrade\MSSQL\mssql_331Patch3plus_40_0.59.11 folder

       2. Install Cygwin if user uses Windows

      3. In the "mssql_run_migrate.sh" file, modify SERVER, MSSQL_PORT, DATABASE, MSSQL_USER and MSSQL_PWD according to your own environment, set J2EE_JAR according to your own environment

       4. Put the MSSQL JDBC driver under the lib folder in the migrator

     5. Run the migrator by using the "sh ./mssql_run_migrate.sh" command

       6. If user wants to migrate to OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002, user needs to run the mssql_4.00_to_4.01_ddl.sql script in the migrator

 

 

 

Software Fixes

HP OpenView Select Identity OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002 release includes the following software fixes:

Ø         Functional bugs:

·  Remove some log statements that cause creating files in /tmp continuously

·  Fix composite service approval failure issue

·  Request Status List sorting is now by Started time instead of Request ID. (QXCR1000328986)

·  Specific Service administrators will no longer see Services outside their control when adding Services to a User. (QXCR1000328654)

·  Resource attribute information now displays when Select Identity attributes contain null values. The display is correct for both My Resource Accounts and Users -> Resources. (QXCR1000329000)

·  The problem of Select Identity changing the breadcrumb from View User to Modify User when switching between User Services and Resources has been corrected. (QXCR1000328994)

·  Home page User Management search now works for all attributes: User Name, First Name, Last Name, and Email. (QXCR1000328977)

·  Pending Approval counts are now consistent on the Home page and Request Worklist. (QXCR1000328982)

·  User Searches now use the UserName Display Name instead of Attribute Name. However, Target User ID is still used on Request Status and Request Worklist searches. Also, Reports still use UserName for Settings and in column headings. (QXCR1000329039)

·  The Request Worklist now displays the Parent Request ID instead of Sub Task ID. Inside the Workflow Detail, the Sub Task ID still displays. (QXCR1000329046)

·  The View Task Status button on Bulk Job List and Reconciliation Job List has been moved to indicate it’s a selection independent operation. (QXCR1000329051)

·  The Web Application timeout has been changed to 30 minutes.

·  Error displayed during Resource creation when Connector Name is not entered has been corrected.

·  Duplicate “Service” term has been removed after creating a new Service Role.

·  The User Termination Report column heading has been corrected.

·  Audit Sub Type no longer displays garbage when no data is present. This occurred on records migrated from 3.3.1 where this column did not exist.

·  Corrected the problem of connector required attributes not being pushed to the resource during reconciliation. With this change, all attributes identified as required in the mapping file will be sent to the resource regardless of the Sync Out setting on the Resource Attribute Mapping page. (Defect # 101 / QXCR1000335048)

·  Select Identity report processing no longer aborts when a user whose data cannot be decrypted is encountered. (Decryption problems were caused by HSM key changes after user creation.) Reports affected are: (Defect # 69 and 107 / QXCR1000335009):

o              User Configuration Detail Report. Minimal user data will be displayed for the invalid users as well as an error (ERRORS java.lang.RuntimeException: Decryption failure)

o              Resource Reconciliation Report

·  Corrected My Role user display information when delegation is aborted. (Defect # 90 / QXCR1000335017)

·  Correct header information and an error message are now displayed when modifying a Reconciliation or Bulk One Time Job. One time jobs set to execute in the future can be deleted and recreated with corrected information. (Defect # 97 / QXCR1000335017)

·  If Connector Name is changed during resource creation, the Resource Access Information page now refreshes with the correct connector information. (Defect # 99 / QXCR1000335047)

·  The Resource Name search popup window on the Schedule Reconciliation Job screen no longer displays underlying page information. (Defect # 45)

·  Typographical error of Transition has been corrected on Transition block of the Request Status Workflow Detail page. (Defect # 91 / QXCR1000332841)

·  Select Identity now invalidates the web session on Sign Out for Single SignOn mode. (Defect # 40)

·  The resource Mapping File can now be opened when viewing Resource Access Information. (Defect # 62 / QXCR1000334123)

·  Navigation off the Resource Access Information page on resources which contain required Password fields is now allowed. Note that changes will be lost if the Apply or OK button is not used to persist the changes before moving off the page. (Defect # 65/ QXCR1000331479)

·  Using the Clear and Reset buttons now clears previous Search information. The following Searches have been corrected (Defect # 89 / QXCR1000335026):

o              Add New User Delegated and Self Service - Service Search by Type of Service

o              Service - Service Search by Type and Status

o              External Call - Search by Type

o              Bulk Job List - Search by Job Type

o              Audit Report - by Report Type and by Scheduled Type

o              Config Report - by Report Type and by Scheduled Type

o              Workflow – by "Exact" search

o              Admin Role - by Description “Begins With”

·  The Server Management Server Work List now displays all entries. (Defect # 92 / QXCR1000333071)

·  Scheduled Reports for 12:00 and 12:30 PM are now saved with the correct time. (Defect # 96 / QXCR1000335029)

·  Select Identity menu bars now display when selecting My Hint Questions from My Identity. (Defect # 64)

·  The Delegate to User tool-tip display has been corrected. This is accessed from My Role. (Defect # 71 / QXCR1000335005)

·  The Resource Reconciliation Report path name now displays correctly when the report is generated. (Defect # 72 / QXCR1000335014)

·  The migration script has been corrected to:

o              Convert “In Process” Reconciliation and Service Assignment jobs

o              Display old Requests

·  Select Identity Resource searches have been corrected to return all Resource names regardless of case. Corrections have been made to:

o                    Schedule Reconciliation Job

o                    Schedule User Import

o                    User search by Resource

·  The problem of Select Identity changing the breadcrumb from Modify User to View User when Modifying a user and switching between User Services and Resources has been corrected.

·  Corrected the problem of Administrators needing “Add New User” privileges to Add Service to a User. (Defect # 123)

·  Typographical error of Transition has been corrected on Transition links on the Request Status Workflow Detail page. (Defect # 91 / QXCR1000332841)

·  Migrated approver comments can now be viewed.

·  Corrects the database CLOB issue.

·  Allow Notify Approvers action to be asynchronous. This will prevent timeout during approver notification.

NOTE: The Asynchronous flag must be checked on the Notify Approvers action.

·  The external call wrapper has been corrected to replace the attribute value(s) when setOperation(REPLACE) is called. Previously, Select Identity would add the new value to the attribute.

NOTE: We recommend updating the external call to use REPLACE instead of ADD (default) when updating an existing value

 

Property File Changes

 

The HP OpenView Select Identity OVSI 4.0 patch 4.01.002 release includes the following properties file change:
