Note: If you are using URL based invocation for accessing Performance Manager and if you want to launch more than one graph in multiple frames within a single HTML page, you need to use the parameter DISPLAYHTMLGRAPH.

Installation requirements, as well as instructions for installing HP Performance Manager, are documented in the HP Performance Manager Installation, Migration, and Upgrade Guide, version 8.10 for provided in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. The document file is included on the product's DVD as:

  • The “std.txt” file describes the licensing of HP Performance Manager.
  • The “eval.txt” file describes the licensing and support of HP Performance Manager during the 60-day product trial period.
  • Additional files in the /LICENSES directory describe legal agreements from The Apache Software Foundation, Oracle Corporation, and the World Wide Web Consortium covering technologies from those companies that are embedded in Performance Manager. When you install HP Performance Manager, you are agreeing to abide by the conditions in each of these documents.

Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

  1. QXCR1000421846: Multiple error messages appear when Performance Manager fails to retrieve HPOM node list

Description: Multiple error messages appear in the Performance Manager user interface when Performance Manager fails to retrieve the node list from Operations Manager for Windows 8.0.

Workaround: None

  1. QXCR1000452174: After upgrading from PM 6.0, HTML content in graph subtitle appears as plain text

Description: After upgrading from Performance Manager 6.x, any HTML content used in the graph subtitle is not processed and appears as plain text in the graph.

Workaround: Edit the graph using the Design Wizard and remove the HTML content.

  1. QXCR1000742531: The " Next" Button in Data source Selection screen does not work as expected

    Description: In the design wizard, after selecting data source, clicking the 'Next' button to navigate to the next screen does not work unless the mouse cursor is moved away from the button once.

    Workaround: Move the mouse cursor away from the 'Next' button once and click the 'Next' button again.

  2. QXCR1000772419: Editing a saved system comparison graph does not allow the user to change the metric

Description: When you edit a system comparison graph from the design wizard, you cannot change the metric which appears selected.

Workaround: From the Metric Selection screen, remove a metric and add another metric which you want to use for system comparison.

  1. QXCR1000467013: Internet Explorer returns a locale detection error message when you access Performance Manager 8.10 first time after installation

Description: When you install Performance Manager 8.10 for the first time and launch the application using Internet Explorer, the browser returns an error message indicating failure to detect the locale.

Workaround: Launch Performance Manager in another instance of the browser, the error message will not appear.

  1. QXCR1000798195 -- Header/trailer text box in design wizard overlap in Mozilla FireFox 2.x .

Description: If you are using Performance Manager 8.10 on Mozilla FireFox 2.x, while designing a graph using the design wizard, on the Other Attributes, the text boxes for the Graph Header and Graph Trailers appears misaligned.

Workaround: You can continue with the graph designing steps as this does not affect the graph design.
