Listed below are manufacturing part numbers for HP Performance Manager DVD for different platforms. HP Performance Manager 8.10 is available in English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese languages:

In This Version

The 8.10 version of Performance Manager provides the following changes:

• Flat file as data source: Performance Manager supports the usage of flat files as data sources. For more information on the format and location of flat files, see HP Performance Manager Administrator Guide.
• Business unit trending method: Performance Manager allows you to draw forecast graphs with business units data, to forecast the impact of changes in a business unit on your system. Performance Manager administrators can create a flat file or Business Unit file and upload the file to Performance Manager for analysis and forecast. Flat files can be uploaded only by a Performance Manager Administrator. For more information, refer to the HP Performance Manager Administrator Guide.
• Configurable default value for number of rows in a table: Performance Manager administrators can configure the default value for the number of rows in a table graph. For more information, refer to the HP Performance Manager Administrator Guide.

Note: The out-of the-box graph template, titled "Process CPU" which belongs to the graph family "Process Performance Graphs" is no longer available in this version of HP Performance Manager. For the complete list of out-of-the box graph templates, see HP Performance Manager Tutorials.

Performance Manager 8.00 includes the following changes:

• Usability improvements: A single web- based user-friendly interface with a tabbed view for displaying multiple graphs within the same browser window. The new interface allows you to perform the required tasks with fewer clicks and provides better navigational aids. The user-interface does not require the JRE plug-in to the web browser.
• Enhanced zoom-in, zoom-out and, drill down options: Ability to zoom in or zoom out performance data displayed in image graphs at different summarization levels. Also ability to drill down to tabular or graphical formats to view data at required granularity.
• Performance data analysis through pattern identification: Additional Navigational aids such as 'Next' and 'Prev' buttons to view performance data for adjacent time intervals at the same summarization level. This enables you to identify patterns and isolate problems.

• Viewing performance data for adjoining time intervals within a graph: Ability to determine the “points every” value automatically to fit data in a single graph. You can now choose to fetch data for adjacent time intervals from the same data source and view the data within the same graph at a higher summarization level by using the “Append” and “Prepend” buttons.

• The vertical or y-axis scroll bar: Allows you to set the vertical scaling of the graph. Move the slider down to lower the maximum value on the y-axis and move it up to increase the maximum value. You can adjust the maximum value from 1 to 1 billion. The graph is redrawn with the chosen value for the maximum value on the y-axis.
• Design wizard: A design wizard which allows to design different types of graphs such as system comparison graphs, instance comparison graphs. The design wizard also allows you to modify and save pre-defined graph templates and edit a drawn graph.
• Automatic communication protocol discovery: Ability to automatically discover the communication protocol configured on the data sources such as HP Performance Agent or HP Operations agent while drawing or designing graphs.
• Managing large number of nodes: Performance Manager performs lazy loading of nodes, where nodes under a group will be loaded only when the respective node-group tree is expanded. This improves the operational efficiency of Performance Manager in environments, where the number of nodes being managed through Performance Manager is large.
• User-interface for administering performance manager: An administration interface which can be accessed by the Performance Manager administrator from the Performance Manager’s default home page. This interface allows the administrator to manage nodes, customers and, users in Performance Manager.

• Integration with HP Operations Manager for Windows: Ability to import node groups from HP Operations Manager for Windows 8.x, when both Operations Manager for Windows and Performance Manager 8.x are installed on the same system. Ability to refresh the Operations Manager for Windows defined node groups from the Performance Manager User Interface. Performance Manager features can be used from within the Operations Manager for Windows console. This allows you to context launch performance graphs for supported data sources, based on messages, nodes or service map elements.
• Change in default port number: The default http port number is changed from 8080 to 8081. Now, the URL for accessing Performance Manager home page is: http://<systemname>:8081/OVPM. The default https port number is also changed from 8443 to 8444. You can access Performance Manager through https protocol by using the “https://<systemname>:8444/OVPM” URL.

Note: If you are using URL based invocation for accessing Performance Manager and if you want to launch more than one graph in multiple frames within a single HTML page, you need to use the parameter DISPLAYHTMLGRAPH.

Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

1. QXCR1000421846: Multiple error messages appear when Performance Manager fails to retrieve HPOM node list

Description: Multiple error messages appear in the Performance Manager user interface when Performance Manager fails to retrieve the node list from Operations Manager for Windows 8.0.

Workaround: None

2. QXCR1000452174: After upgrading from PM 6.0, HTML content in graph subtitle appears as plain text

Description: After upgrading from Performance Manager 6.x, any HTML content used in the graph subtitle is not processed and appears as plain text in the graph.

Workaround: Edit the graph using the Design Wizard and remove the HTML content.

3. QXCR1000742531: The " Next" Button in Data source Selection screen does not work as expected
   
   

   Description: In the design wizard, after selecting data source, clicking the 'Next' button to navigate to the next screen does not work unless the mouse cursor is moved away from the button once.

   Workaround: Move the mouse cursor away from the 'Next' button once and click the 'Next' button again.

4. QXCR1000772419: Editing a saved system comparison graph does not allow the user to change the metric

Description: When you edit a system comparison graph from the design wizard, you cannot change the metric which appears selected.

Workaround: From the Metric Selection screen, remove a metric and add another metric which you want to use for system comparison.

5. QXCR1000467013: Internet Explorer returns a locale detection error message when you access Performance Manager 8.10 first time after installation

Description: When you install Performance Manager 8.10 for the first time and launch the application using Internet Explorer, the browser returns an error message indicating failure to detect the locale.

Workaround: Launch Performance Manager in another instance of the browser, the error message will not appear.

6. QXCR1000798195 -- Header/trailer text box in design wizard overlap in Mozilla FireFox 2.x .

Description: If you are using Performance Manager 8.10 on Mozilla FireFox 2.x, while designing a graph using the design wizard, on the Other Attributes, the text boxes for the Graph Header and Graph Trailers appears misaligned.

Workaround: You can continue with the graph designing steps as this does not affect the graph design.
