Performance Manager version 8.21 is supported on Linux Operating System.

Installation requirements, as well as instructions for installing HP Performance Manager, are documented in the HP Performance Manager Installation, and Migration Guide, version 8.21 are provided in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. The document file is included on the product's optical media as:

While installing HP Performance Manager 8.21 on a system where HP Operations Manager for Linux 9.0 is already installed, a message asking you to replace the version of existing component packages appears. You must not replace the version of the existing component packages. For more information, see HP Performance Manager for Linux Installation and Migration Guide.

Description: In the design wizard, after selecting data source, clicking the 'Next' button to navigate to the next screen does not work unless the mouse cursor is moved away from the button once.
Workaround: Move the mouse cursor away from the 'Next' button once and click the 'Next' button again.
Description: When you edit a system comparison graph from the design wizard, you cannot change the metric which appears selected.
Workaround: From the Metric Selection screen, remove a metric and add another metric which you want to use for system comparison.
Description: When you install Performance Manager 8.21 for the first time and launch the application using Internet Explorer, the browser returns an error message indicating failure to detect the locale.
Workaround: Launch Performance Manager in another instance of the browser, the error message will not appear.
Description: If you are using Performance Manager 8.21 on Mozilla Firefox, while designing a graph using the design wizard, on the Other Attributes page of the Design Wizard, the text boxes for the Graph Header and Graph Trailers appear misaligned. This issue is seen only when you use Performance Manager from Firefox version browser.
Workaround: You can enter the text for Graph Header and Graph Trailer fields from the Graph Design Wizard. The misalignment in the text boxes does not affect the appearance of the Graph Header and Graph Trailer when the graph is viewed from the print view.
Description: When proxy log files or extracted log files are used as data source, the graphs display incorrect values for 'end date'.
Workaround: Do not save the proxied log file in the location /var/opt/perf/datafiles. The graph displays correct values when you save the log file in any location other than /var/opt/perf/datafiles.
Description: After installation, Performance Manager does not start when directory name contains multi-byte characters (such as localized strings). Performance Manager is not supported on systems with multi-byte characters in directory names.
Workaround: None
Description: While verifying the license, the message "IPv6 Loopback address Found" appears multiple time on the CLI. The number of times the message appears is many as the number of IP locked licenses present in license file. This happens only, if licenses other than the Instant-On, are installed and are not locked to wildcarded IP (*.*.*.*)
Workaround: None
Description:While installing HP Performance Manager 8.21 on a system where HP Operations Manager for Linux 9.0 is already installed, a message asking you to replace the version of existing component packages appears.
Workaround: You must not replace the version of the existing component packages. Make the appropriate selection during the process of installation. For more information, see HP Performance Manager for Linux Installation and Migration Guide.
Description: The local trace logs are working but for OVPM status the following error displays:
The OV trace server is NOT RUNNING.
Workaround: Manually start /opt/OV/lbin/xpl/trc/ovtrcd.
