What's New in This Release

Installing a report pack configures PI to summarize and aggregate collected data in accordance with specific processing directives.

The PI Report Packs November 2009 release has the following features:

During upgrade, the installer of the PI Report Packs November 2009 release, by default, automatically backs up all your previous report packs from the Packages folder into the Packages.preRNS14 folder. However, you also have the option to back up your existing report packs manually.

Before running the setup program, make sure that the folder {DPIPE_HOME}/packages is not being used by any other user.

Installation Notes

IMPORTANT: The PI Report Packs November 2009 release can only be installed on PI 5.41. Do not install these packages on an earlier version of PI.

Upgrading Report Packs after Upgrading to PI 5.41

To upgrade the report packs, follow these steps:

Backup your current Packages directory (if you choose to take a manual back up in addition to the backup taken by the installer)
Upgrade report packs
Upgrade each datapipe

Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

This release contains the following limitations:

Problem	MPLS VPN Report Pack: This version of the Juniper MPLS VPN Datapipe does not populate every report in the MPLS VPN Report Pack. See below for details about reports that will be empty or partially populated. Admin Folder Inventory: Report will not be populated for Juniper devices. VPN Inventory: The current VRF setting table will have ‘0’ for # Routes (Number of Routes configured). The HighRouteThreshold and MidRouteThreshold will default to ‘1’ since they are not available in Juniper devices. Devices Folder Recent MPLS Activity: No MPLS associated information will be populated. Recent VPN Route Activity: Reports will be partially filled for Juniper Devices, since most of the information is related to route activity are unavailable in JNX-VPN-MIB. Recent VPN Activity: Route counts column will be null; Total route count graph will not be populated for Juniper MPLS devices. Interfaces Folder MPLS Availability and Response Time: Empty for Juniper MPLS Devices MPLS Unreachable Interfaces: Empty for Juniper MPLS Devices Near Real Time MPLS: Empty for Juniper MPLS Devices Near Real Time MPLS Snapshot: Empty for Juniper MPLS Devices VPNs Folder VPN Route Activity: Reports will be partially filled for Juniper Devices, since most of the information is related to route activity are unavailable in JNX-VPN-MIB. VPN Exception Hot Spots: VRF Routes counts in the top selection table will not be populated for Juniper devices. VPN Executive Summary: VRF Routes counts in the top selection table will not be populated for Juniper devices. VPN Top and Bottom Ten - Volume: Avg Route counts will not be populated for Juniper devices. VRFs Folder VRF Recent OperStatus: VRF Routes count will not be not populated for juniper devices; High Route Threshold and Min Route Threshold values are defaulted to ‘1’ which is not available in Juniper.
