QXCR1000465768: SPI install causes Discovery service to stop.
QXCR1000465772: Running the SPI install several times, canceling it, then
starting it again, can result in stranded msi processes.
Limitation: Upgrades of Microsoft Exchange SPI Graphing package and DB2 SPI Reporter package are detected as "install", rather than "upgrade". In case of Microsoft Exchange SPI Graphing package and DB2 SPI Reporter package installation, you can proceed with the install option. It does affect the normal installation process.
Problem: SAM SPI instrumentation categories are missing on HPOM for
Windows 8.00.
Warning: The SAM SPI is not supported on HPOM 8.00.
Problem: The checkboxes for installing SPI, SPI Graphs and SPI Reports are not by default selected when HPOM for Windows, with HP Reporter or HP Performance Manager, is installed in a clustered environment.
Workaround: Select the checkboxes manually.
Problem: The HPOM Reports package is not removed after uninstalling Smart Plug Ins.
Workaround: Run the HP Operations Manager Reports for Windows.msi from
\\SPIs\OVServiceReports on the SPI DVD, and select the Remove option.
Problem: HP Operations Smart Plug-ins DVD install fails on machines
that have HP Operations Manager console installed together with HP Reporter or HP Performance Manager.
Warning: Avoid using a machine with this setup. However, in such a setup, the SPI DVD
will install the SPI console packages through the DVD. For customers wanting to install SPI Reporter
or Graph packages for HP Reporter or HP Performance Manager, they can manually copy the corresponding
.msi package from the SPI DVD, and install. Uninstall the package manually using Add - Remove programs.
Problem: When uninstalling a SPI, sometimes policies are not deleted from the Agent
Policies grouped by type folder.
Workaround: Delete the policies manually.
Problem: A system can become corrupted if installing SPIs on an HPOM 8.00 cluster when
the cluster node is passive.
Workaround: Make sure the node is active before installing the SPIs. This can be done
through the "Cluster Administration" mmc snap-in. If the node is not active, and the SPIDVD continues
with the installation, the system might become corrupted.
