requirements, as well as instructions for installing NNM iSPI Performance for QA,
are documented in the installation guide provided in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. The document file is included on the product's
installation media as: nmQASPI_InstallGuide_en.pdf. After
installation, this document can be found from the NNM iSPI Performance for QA
User Interface by selecting Help → NNM iSPI Documentation Library → iSPI
Performance for QA Install Guide.
You
must install HP Network
Node Manager i Software (NNMi)
9.00 installed before you start installing NNM iSPI Performance for QA.
Before you install NNM iSPI Performance for QA, make
sure that your system meets the following minimum requirements:
·
Intel 64-bit (x86-64) or
AMD 64-bit (AMD64)
§
Only supported for the
Windows or Linux operating systems.
·
Itanium Processor Family
§
Only supported for the
HP-UX operating system.
·
Sun SPARC
§
Only supported for the
Solaris operating system.
§
The NNM iSPI
Performance for QA supports the following
Solaris processors:
UltraSPARC IIIi, IV, IV+
SPARC64 V, V+
SPARC64 VI, VII (M-class)
§
The NNM iSPI
Performance for QA does not support the following Solaris T series
processors:
UltraSPARC T1, T2, and T2+
·
Hypervisor
Virtualization
§
VMWare ESX Server 3.5 or 4.x
o Only supported for the Windows or Linux
operating systems.

These
values are approximate and reflect levels tested by HP. The number of currently
discovered QA probes is displayed in the NNM iSPI Performance for QA "Help for NNMiSPI
--> System information for iSPI Performance for QA"
dialog. Managed environments bigger than these are not supported without
additional HP approval.
1 Minimum
of 2.5GHz for x64 and 1.4GHz for IPF or RISC.
2 These are recommendations based on the environment size listed in
the table above. Managing less number of QA probes may use the less Java heap. Managing more, may require increasing the java heap
size and HP approval.
3 $NnmInstallDir is
configured during installation on Windows (C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP BTO
Software\ by default), or on UNIX by creating a symlink
to /opt/OV/.
4 $NnmDataDir is configured during
installation on Windows 2003 (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\HP\HP BTO Software\ by default), or Windows 2008 (C:\ProgramData\HP\HP BTO
Software\ by default), or on UNIX creating a symlink
of /var/opt/OV/.
These recommendations only apply to NNM iSPI Performance for QA
running under the default settings. If you intend to run any of the other NNM iSPIs, please review each iSPI support matrix before
determining the hardware you need. Each of the NNM iSPIs
may require additional hardware beyond what NNMi and
NNM iSPI Performance for QA require. If you are running additional
applications, please increase resources appropriately.
For
CPU, RAM, and disk space requirements to install Network Performance Server and
NNMi on the same server, see HP Network Performance Server Software System and Device Support Matrix.
Notes
HP-UX 11i v3
Sun Solaris 10 SPARC
Solaris on
Intel Architecture is not supported.
For detailed pre-requisites for installing refer
to NNMi 9.00 Support Matrix.
·
Recommended size is at
least equal to physical memory
·
Verify virtual memory
via the cat /proc/meminfo | grep Swap
command on Linux, or System Properties
on Windows.
·
Adjust virtual memory
via the parted
and mkswap
command on Linux, or System Properties
on Windows.
NNM
iSPI Performance for QA can run in a High Availability (HA) Cluster environment with

NNM
iSPI Performance for QA is internationalized and can be used on operating
systems configured for non-US-English locales that are supported by the
operating systems. Those locales include variants of Japanese, Simplified
Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, and Western and Central European locales, and
Russian.
On Windows systems, NNM iSPI
Performance for QA does not support
installation using directory paths with localized characters; path names for $NnmInstallDir and $NnmDataDir can
contain English characters only.
NNM iSPI
Performance for QA is localized (or
translated) to Japanese and Simplified Chinese. When those localized packages
are installed, Japanese or Simplified Chinese are displayed (as output) and NNM iSPI
Performance for QA accepts non-English characters
as input. With all other locales, English strings appear as output while NNM iSPI
Performance for QA accepts non-English
characters as input.
The following table lists the localized
languages and supported Locales for each operating system.

NNM
iSPI Performance for QA supports the NNMi supported
devices that match the following MIB specifications:
·
Cisco devices which support the IP SLA Tests and MIB
CISCO-RTTMON-MIB [1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42]
·
All devices which support the RFC 4560 or RFC 2925 (DISMAN PING
MIB)
Note:
The recommended Cisco IOS IP SLA version is 12.x or greater.
This
device support information is based on the latest information available to HP
at the time of publication. Note that device vendors can at any time alter a
device's MIB usage (for example, in newer IOS or system software versions) and
invalidate NNM iSPI Performance for QA’s interpretation of that device's
MIB data.
