What's New in This Release?

The Executive Scorecard is a new product that HP designed around key business questions that we tested with several of our CIO partners. By validating these questions and learning about other important business questions, we were able to develop this exciting new product that helps drive meaningful data-driven conversations. Designing the Executive Scorecard around key business questions led HP to create analytics with true value, analytics that enable you to clearly understand who needs to know what information and how they can use that information to improve the business. Executive Scorecard delivers measurements that expose clear action items, adding significant value to leadership teams faced with operational, financial, service, and delivery challenges.

Known Problems, Limitations, and Workarounds

This release contains certain unresolved problems and limitations, identified by a tracking number. Workarounds can help you solve some problems. To display details about each known problem, click the tracking number. To hide details, click again.

107271: The Configuration Tool does not provide an error when the UI Mashup SQL commands fail.

Problem: If the UI Mashup SQL commands fail during the Executive Scorecard configuration, the Configuration Tool does not provide an error message.
Workaround: Verify that the Executive Scorecard database user is assigned sufficient privileges. See the Create the Required Databases section in the Executive Scorecard 1.00 Installation and Configuration Guide for information about assigning user roles and priveleges.

107274: During step 4 of the Executive Scorecard configuration, the Configuration Tool indicates that the Antivia XWIS configuration is successful even though the XWIS database user does not have privileges to populate the XWIS database.

Problem: If the Antivia XWIS database user does not have sufficient privileges to populate tables in the XWIS database, the Configuration Tool does not provide an error message to indicate that the Antivia XWIS configuration was unsuccessful during step 4 of the Executive Scorecard configuration.
Workaround: Verify that the XWIS database user is assigned sufficient privileges. See the Create the Required Databases section in the Executive Scorecard 1.00 Installation and Configuration Guide for information about assigning user roles and priveleges.

107701: Resizing columns on any of the Scorecard components causes the status icons and bullet charts to overlap the other columns.

Problem: If you resize columns on the Financial Scorecard, Program Scorecard, or Service Scorecard components, the icons in the Status column and the bullet charts will overlap values in the other columns.
Workaround: Do not resize columns in the Financial Scorecard, Program Scorecard, or Service Scorecard components. To enlarge the components, open them in a separate window. See the Executive Scorecard 1.00 Help for information about using the Component toolbar to open the components in a separate window.

108051: The Monitored Availability component on the Service page shows values for the % SLAs Met and % SLAs Not Met when there is no data.

Problem: The Monitored Availability component on the Service page shows values for the % SLAs Met and % SLAs Not Met when there is no data. The % SLAs Met and % SLAs Not Met values should be zero.
Workaround: The data for this component originates in HP Business Service Management (BSM). In BSM, administrators have the ability to customize completion states. Therefore, there are different definitions for "Not met". In Executive Scorecard, "SLA Not Met" is defined as all items not explicitly set to Met: 100% - (SLA Met). When there is no data, the Met metric is blank, which is interpreted as zero, leaving Not Met to calculate at 100%. To fix this, you can create a Web Intelligence (Webi) report to return an explicit Not Met value. Create an Antivia Table object in the component for the new Webi that outputs data into the cells currently occupied by the 100% - (SLA Met) formula.

108496: The sample data KPIs in the Financial Scorecard, Program Scorecard, and Service Scorecard components display rising and falling states when there is no data for the KPI.

Problem: When there is no data for the KPIs in the Financial Scorecard, Program Scorecard, and Service Scorecard components, the icon in the Status column should show that the values are steady. However, the Status column may show that the values are rising or falling.
Workaround: KPIs 3 and 4 (Business Service Cost Reduction and IT POR vs. Total Revenue) calculate based on values that are hard-coded in user-entered fields in the Xcelsius component. Edit the Scorecard components in Xcelsius and blank out the white-background cells on the Connection tab.

108504: In the IT POR versus Total Revenue component on the Financial page, the icon in the Status column does not change to steady when the KPI value for the current month is the same as the previous month.

Problem: Even though the KPI value for the current month matches the value for the previous month, the Status icon in the IT POR versus Total Revenue component on the Financial page does not change to steady.
Workaround: All data the Executive Scorecard displays is rounded to two decimal places. However, trend calculations do not round. Therefore, what may appear to be equal on-screen may be not be equal at a low precision. For example, if the value for last month was 2.451 and the value for this month is 2.453, there is an upward trend. However, on the screen, both values will appear as 2.45. To remove this discrepancy, edit the trend calculation in the Scorecard component to use the Round() function at 2 decimal places.

108782: Several users working simultaneously in Executive Scorecard causes Antivia Service Exception errors on some components.

Problem: When several users are logged on and working with the Executive Scorecard, after some time, some components will display Antivia Service Exception errors.
Workaround: Change configurations in the BusinessObjects Enterprise Central Management Console to increase the values for the server connection properties. See the Change Connection Properties in the BOE Central Management Console section in the Executive Scorecard 1.00 Installation and Configuration Guide for instructions on changing the server connection properties.

108875: Windows Internet Explorer (IE) sporadically displays a "Stop running this script" error.

Problem: When you view the Executive Scorecard, Windows IE may display the following error message:
"Stop running this script? A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive."
Workaround: Click No. To use Executive Scorecard, you must continue to run this script.

Executive Scorecard Accessibility Support

Hewlett-Packard is committed to providing products and services, including enterprise software products that are accessible to users with disabilities. As part of that commitment, HP uses the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) to describe the conformance of our products to Section 508 standards, and help Federal Agencies comply with Section 508.

We are continuing to develop the HP BTO Software suite for usability, functionality, compatibility with third-party assistive technology software and conformance with international accessibility standards as well as Section 508.

Although Hewlett-Packard is committed to delivering products that are accessible and conform to Section 508 standards, HP will take all practical steps to ensure that future releases conform to Section 508 standards. Conformance to Section 508 standards by HP Executive Scorecard is also dependent upon a third-party technology that today does not conform in some areas. Hewlett-Packard is working with our third-party vendor and internal development to resolve currently identified conformance issues.
