PA Data Source

You can use the PA Data Source page to manage the HP Performance Agent data collection. You do not need to create new HP Performance Agent data source connections because, by default, all the nodes on which HP Performance Agent is installed are automatically discovered when the topology data is collected. These data sources or nodes are listed in the PA Data Source page. Using this page, you can schedule the HP Performance Agent data collection, enable or disable the data collection, and delete HP Performance Agent data source connections.

PA Data Source Summary

Field Description
View name

A list of topology views for the installed Content Packs. These topology views contain the specific CI attributes that the HP Performance Agent collector uses to collect the relevant data.

All indicates all the views. Unassigned indicates the HP Performance Agent data sources that do not have any topology views assigned to it.
Hosts The number of HP Performance Agent data sources for that particular view.
Collection: Passed The number of distinct HP Performance Agent data sources from where the raw data was successfully collected.
Collection: Failed The number of distinct HP Performance Agent data sources from where data collection failed.
Collection: Never Collected The number of distinct HP Performance Agent data sources from where data was never collected.
Enabled/Disabled The number of distinct HP Performance Agent data sources that are enabled or disabled for data collection.

PA Data Source Details

Field Description
Search: Host name Search option that support pattern matching search. You can use this feature to search for a particular HP Performance Agent data source node or filter this displayed list of nodes.
Host name Name of the HP Performance Agent data source.
Enable Collection

Enable or disable data collection from the HP Performance Agent data source.

Note: Use the enable or disable option in the header to enable or disable data collection from all the PA Data Sources in the list.
Schedule Polling Frequency Time (in hours) to synchronize the SHR database with the HP Performance Agent data source.

Connection Status

Status of HP Performance Agent data source connection.

  • Indicates that the host system is connected to the data source.
  • Indicates that the host system is not connected to the data source.

Collection Status

Status of the data collection showing the date and local time of the latest collection attempt and the current status.

  • indicates that the data collection completed successfully.
  • indicates that the data collection failed.
  • indicates that the data collection was never started.
Test Connection Test an HP Performance Agent data source connection.
Delete Delete an HP Performance Agent data source connection.
Save Save the changes made to an HP Performance Agent data source connection.
Update All Opens the Apply schedule to group section where you can apply the collection schedule for all the listed hosts. This option does not appear for the All or Unassigned options in the View name column.
