Prior to starting the upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you backup your existing PowerRecon database files. Please review the following Kb for instructions on how to backup your PowerRecon databases.

HOWTO: How to backup and restore your Recon databases from SQL 2000, SQL 2005 and POSTGRE

In addition, to speed up the installation process, Write caching can be enabled on the disk prior to installation. To enable write caching please follow the steps listed below

1. On the PowerRecon Server, launch device manager.

2. Access the disk device properties, select the policy tab, and then select "Enable Write Caching on the Disk"

Resolution

It is recommended to run the installation/upgrade executable from a local disk, not a network share. It is also recommended to install while on the console of the Recon server or connected through remote console session.

1. Download Recon 3.5 from the PlateSpin Website

2.  Launch the downloaded Recon 3.5 executable and follow the prompts.

*NOTE - After upgrade none of the jobs, logs, or archived jobs that were in the previous PowerRecon will be preserved.
