Resolution

Answer

Customer is importing an .XML file that contains password policies, preferences, application definitions at an Organizations Unit (OU). The .XML contains SSO data that has been tested in their development environment and they wish to load it into production (without having to manually create everything again).

Once the SSO data has been loaded at the OU, it will be available to all users that reside in that container and lower containers. When loading the data the Credentials option is selected but credentials are typically only stored against a user object.

Credentials are not just usernames and passwords. Credentials are stored against user objects and encrypted with a user (unique) key but they can also be preconfigured at the OU.

For example, credentials such as Domain, IP Address, Database name or any other credential can be preconfigured at the OU and will apply to all users in that OU and below. If it is not required, simply deselect the option.
