Environment

Novell SecureLogin SSO

Situation

Can I run SecureLogin Startup Application Definitions (scripts) without restarting?

Is a restart required to run a startup application definition?

Resolution

To run startup application definitions without unloading and reloading SecureLogin, use the following command:
slproto.exe /runstartup

Additional Information

SecureLogin includes startup application definitions that run when SecureLogin loads. They are extremely powerful and flexible. Examples of possible uses include:

  • Determine whether the user logged on with a smart card and PIN or password and respond accordingly (e.g. if the user did not logon with a smart card, unload SSO for example to link the smart card with the SSO service)
  • When SecureLogin is first run, display a message to the user re: ""Terms of Use of SSO"" and only load if the user agrees by clicking Yes. Once they have agreed, the message is no longer displayed.
