Application definition preference, GPO, Container, or user

Environment

SecureLogin SSO

Situation

Users have application definitions defined at the user level

Users have created their own application definitions using the wizard, but now a corporate application definition is desired to take precedence.

Resolution

Delete the application definitions (and reset any preferences to Default) that have been created against the user object. Once the application definition has been removed specifically from the user object, the centrally published application will be applied when SecureLogin next loads and/or refreshes the cache.

Tip: The red triangle that appears next to application definitions indicates it has been inherited (if you hold the mouse over the application, the location it has been inherited from appears in the status bar). The lack of a triangle appearing next to the Remedy application indicates that it is a user specific application and has not been added via GPO or OU.

Additional Information

By default, applications published specifically on user objects override applications that are published on GPO and OU’s. This is working as designed to provide administrative granularity.
