Environment
Novell SecureLogin
Situation
It is often asked of a machine needs to be connected to a corporate network for SSO to function properly, or what happens when mobile users take their notebook computers home for the day?
Resolution
SecureLogin supports an 'offline' mode by way of a cache file. This is found under the 'preferences' section entitled: Enable Cache File. It can be set on a container, group, or user.
When the cache file is enabled, NSL has the ability to retrieve and supply credentials even when the machine is not connected to the corporate network. This information is encrypted, and stored locally on the workstation so wherever the workstation goes; the information will be available.
