Copying applications and settings from one OU, GPO, or User to another

How can I copy applications and settings from one object to another? I have hundreds of OU’s in my Directory and I don’t want to create everything from scratch at every OU.

Answer

Use the Distribution tab in the MMC or iManager SecureLogin snapin to copy application definitions, password polices and preferences from one object to another.

Using the Distribution tab, you can publish applications and make settings at one OU (e.g. OU=Users) and then copy them around instead of having to create them all from scratch at each OU.

You can also use the tab to export and import them to an XML file if desired.
