When running a P2V conversion to a XEN based virtual server the conversion job may enter a recoverable error state at configuring operating system however the target virtual machine is fully functional.

This issue may occur if the virtual network that was configured in the job was set to a network which has it’s Link status set to disabled.

Resolution

This issue may occur if the virtual network that was configured in the job was set to a network which has it’s Link status set to disabled.

As the target virtual machine is fully functional there is no need to rerun the conversion. Set the virtual network status to connected, and if the job does not continue, abort the job.

To avoid this issue in future confirm that the virtual network assigned in the job configuration has it’s link status set to connected.
