Situation
This article discusses an issue which may occur when trying to generate an inventory report for an ESX based system in PowerRecon. When generating an inventory report in PowerRecon for an ESX server the report does not contain any information regarding applications or running processes on the ESX Server.
Resolution
When generating an inventory report for an ESX Server the report does not contain any information related to the running processes or installed applications on the ESX Server. This functionality is by design. Recon currently does not gather the same information from ESX based system as Linux or Windows based systems and as such will not contain any information regarding the running processes or applications on the ESX host.
