Situation

 

During a P2X conversion, the job may fail during the file transfer stage with the following error:

Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Resolution

This error usually indicates a problem with the disk or filesystem on the source machine.

  1. On the source machine, open a DOS window and run CHKDSK /R on all volumes
  2. Attempt the conversion again.
  3. If the error still occurs after retrying the conversion, this could indicate a possible hardware issue.  Please obtain a disk diagnostic utility from the hardware vendor and verify that the hard disks are functioning correctly.
