WinPE does not detect 2 or more processors on a physical target server

This article outlines details on how PowerConvert WinPE discovers the number of processors on a target physical server.

Situation

 

For some models of servers WinPE does not properly report the number of processors in the server. When PowerConvert asks for the number of processors the default may be one (1) even though there are more processors. The correct number of processors must be entered for the conversion job to be successful.
