Overview
This article discusses a possible issue when performing a V2V conversion from Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 to VMware ESX Server.
Details
When performing a V2V conversion from a Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 VM to a VMware ESX Server VM, the VM will lock on startup or the following STOP: 0x0000001E Blue Screen error may appear (the conversion job will fail during the "Configuring Operating System" step - see TID 7920327):
This error can appear if VM Additions on the source VM on the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 was installed when the V2V conversion was performed.
Solution
To prevent this issue from occurring, PlateSpin recommends that users uninstall VM Additions from the source VM on the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 host before proceeding with the V2V conversion.
