Situation

This article describes how to install PowerConvert on a server where the System drive has less than 850 of free space.

Resolution

You will have to modify the value of the user environment variable %TMP% (or create one if none exists). The new value should point to a location with at least 850 MB free space.

  1. Using System in Control Panel, go to the Advanced tab, and click Environment Variables.
  2. Edit the TMP user variable or create one pointing to a valid location on the computer.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Proceed with the PowerConvert installation, choosing a destination folder on a drive with enough disk space (approximately 1.2 GB).

You can reset the TMP variable to its previous value afterwards, however if the System drive is very low in free space, it is recommended to leave the TMP folder pointing to a location with enough free space available as it may be used by other programs to store temporary files.

PlateSpin does not recommend the installation of PowerConvert Server on a machine with a System drive that has less than 100MB of free space.
