Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

An error occurs within the Control Center Status pane for Cache Manager stating Access Denied while executing SyncComputerEvent.

Resolution

To fix this, validate that the account defined in the linked server has a user mapping for the target QDB.

  1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SQL server where the Control Center database is installed
  2. Expand Server Objects
  3. Expand Linked Servers
  4. Right Click on the Target Databse, Choose Properties
  5. Choose Security
  6. If an account is specified ensure the defined user has access to the remote database.
  7. Restart the NetIQ Control Center Command Queue service after the user access has been properly configured.

Cause

The error occurs because the account defined in the SQL Server linked servers does not have proper access to the QDB database or the account defined is locked out.
