Situation
What is the behavior of Aegis Smarts Adapter when the Aegis Server is down?
Resolution
The Smarts API provides an asynchronous event subscription/notification mechanism which is dependant on a live connection the Domain Manager, in the above example the events would generated on the Smarts side while the Aegis Server is down and would not be caught by the NetIQ Aegis Adapter for EMC Smarts adapter.
Cause
In example, how would the Aegis Smarts adapter handle the following scenario:
10:30 AM ? Ionix Availability Manager determines that Host A is down and generates a notification.
10:45 AM ? Aegis Server goes down.
10:51 AM ? Ionix Availability Manager determines that Host B is down and generates a notification.
10:54 AM ? Ionix Availability Manager determines that Host A is up and generates a clear.
11:00 AM ? Aegis Server is back up.
11:03 AM ? Ionix Availability Manager determines that Host B is up and generates a clear.
Will the Aegis Smarts adapter know about the events at 10:51 AM and 10:54 AM?
