Upgrade from VPC 5.5 to 5.6 fails to copy files (NETIQKB73297)

VigilEnt Policy Center 5.6

Situation

Upgrade from VPC 5.5 to 5.6 fails to copy files

Unable to upgrade to VPC 5.6 from 5.5.

Resolution

To check for this issue, use SQL Managment Studio to verify the SQL Logs for SQL Server. If this issue has occured you will see errors in the logs related to the transaction log for the VPC Database being full. If this is the case, you will need to re-do the upgrade after giving the SQL server more space.

Cause

When upgrading VPC 5.5 to 5.6, VPC has to copy files to the SQL Server. If the SQL server does not have adaquate free space, some of the VPC files will fail to copy. The VPC installer will not fail.
