Environment

Directory & Resource Administrator 8.x

Situation

Can the default time interval that ADAM synchronizes instances be adjusted?

What is the ADAM sync job?

Can the ADAM sync job be changed?

Resolution

The default sync job time that DRA uses to synchronize the Primary ADAM instance with all Secondary ADAM instances can be changed by adjusting values of two registry keys at following registry location.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\Administration\Modules\ServerConfiguration

The keys are:

  • LoadLDAPQueries.Freq
  • LoadVA.Freq

The default interval for the jobs is "01:00", meaning every hour. This is the minimum time interval allowed.  This can be adjusted to higher intervals on-the-hour, however (not to exceed "23:00").

Once the values are changed, restart the NetIQ Administration service.
