Situation

Sending Mail using Custom Tools in DRA opens a .vbs file in Text mode.

Unable to use the built-in Send Mail Custom Tool.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow the steps:

  1. In the D&C Console, go to Configuration Management ->Custom Tool->Send Mail
  2. Open the property page of Send Mail
  3. Go to Application settings
  4. Give the actual path of the wscript.exe in the Location of the application: field.
    ({%WINDIR%}\System32\wscript.exe)
  5. In the Parameter to pass to the Application field type ?{DRA_Application_Path}\SupportingFiles\Sendmail.vbs.  Then click Apply.

Note: {DRA_Application_Path}\SupportingFiles\Sendmail.vbs should be the first parameter and it should be within ?.

Cause

The operation for opening the .vbs file has been altered.  The default action for all .vbs files is set to launch with Notepad.
